Dear parent/ guardian,
Cardiff Council have asked all schools, primary, secondary, and special schools, in the city to the leaflet contained in the link below with parents. This details the city-wide response to tackling weapons in schools and educational settings following the incident in West Wales in the 2023-24 academic year and to ensure that all schools keep students, staff, and visitors as safe as possible.
The guidance is not related to any incidents at Cathays High School but provides us with a consistent and coherent response to any potential issue which will apply across all schools in the city. The Assistant Director of Education has, therefore, asked schools to share the information in the leaflet with parents, ahead of them sharing it more widely with the media later this week.
