FSM Application

In order to qualify for Free School Meals, you should be receiving one of the following:

– Income Support

– Job Seekers Allowance (income based)

– Employment Support Allowance (income based)

– Pension Credit

– Child Tax Credit with annual income of less than £16,190

School Essentials Grant

The School Essentials Grant is available to help families on a low income, with children who attend a maintained primary or secondary school.

You can use the grant to buy things like:

school uniform,
sports kit,
uniform for enrichment activities, such as community sports
school bags, and
stationery

You cannot use this grant to buy IT equipment.

in order to apply for this grant you must be receiving any of the following:

Income Support,
Jobseeker’s Allowance (income-based),
Employment Support Allowance (income related),
Child Tax Credit, with a household income of £16,190 or less,
Pension Credit (guarantee element), or
Universal Credit with net household earnings of less than £7,400.

If you receive Working Tax Credit, you will not be entitled to the grant.

If you get free school meals due to transitional protection, you will only be eligible if you meet the criteria.

Other ways we can support you

The school has a number of ways in which we can support with the cost of living. For example:

Our morning breakfast from the canteen
Laptop lending
Short term financial support e.g. bus pass (subject to criteria and overseen by our School Community Partnership Fund)
Uniform SWAP or sale
Free period products
Cheap equipment for sale in school
Prom wear shop
Contributing to the cost of school trips (subject to criteria and availability of funds)
Materials for lessons (e.g. Food Tech)
Food and Fun in the Summer Holidays
Help filling in forms e.g. applications for Free School Meals
