What courses are on offer?

We currently offer the following courses:

  • A range of Level 3 courses – mainly AS and A Level
  • A GCSE resit programme (5 GCSE Level 2 qualifications including English, Maths and Science)
  • An ESOL course for post 16 student (Entry Level 1-Level 1)

Entry Requirements:

  • For Level 3 courses, students need at least five A*-C grades at GCSE. Some subjects have more specific entry requirements.
  • For Level 2 courses, students need at least four A*-G grades at GCSE.

In order to offer a broad range of courses, Cathays High School works in partnership with Cardiff & The Vale College. Cathays High Sixth Form students are able to study one of their options at this centre, provided that the subject cannot be taken at Cathays High.

The Partnership allows students to experience a new environment whilst retaining the security and familiarity of staying at school.
