Dear Parent / Guardian,
Over the first three weeks of the summer holidays, beginning on the 25th July, Cathays High School are going to be offering a programme called “Food and Fun” to Year 7 pupils. It will run from Monday to Thursday each week, and pupils will be in school from 9am-3pm. This programme is all about promoting healthy living and positive well-being, and improving engagement with education during the summer holidays.
It is going to be a fun filled three weeks learning about healthy living, and taking part in other enrichment and sporting activities. Students can look forward to:
- Receiving breakfast and lunch every day.
- Families attending for a family lunch one day a week and will also receive a food pack to cook a family meal at home.
- Taking part in nutrition sessions, taking away important information about healthy lifestyles.
- Other parts of the day filled with enrichment activities including paper rocket building with the navy, cooking, food tasting, sports, music making and self-defence.
This is a great opportunity for students to have more positive experiences in school, create some great memories, and make new friends.
