Dear parent/ guardian,
I am writing to inform you that school will be closed for all of tomorrow, Thursday 25th June to all pupils and staff. It is not a decision taken lightly but has been carefully considered considering our experiences today and the likely rise in temperatures forecast for tomorrow. We have asked teachers to make work available online on Google Classroom and/ or student learning apps for pupils to complete at home where possible.
At this point in time, I expect school to reopen at 8.00am for an 8.30am start to lessons on Friday 26th June, as temperatures are predicted to drop. However, temperatures are predicted to be hotter than usual and therefore we will continue to allow pupils to wear their PE kit (either school-branded or plain black, white or navy alternatives) or school uniform without a blazer and jumper. Otherwise, we expect a normal school day on Friday.
I would like to thank parents for their support in our attempts to keep the school open and running in an orderly way. Almost all pupils adjusted their uniform in keeping with the spirit of our message and intention. I would be grateful if you could help to ensure that puils continue this on Friday and do not wear branded items or t-shirts with picture or slogans on.
