Dear Parent/Guardian,
I hope this message finds you well.
As we approach a crucial stage in your child’s educational journey, we are writing to remind you of the importance of consistent school attendance—particularly in Year 11, where every lesson counts toward preparing for final examinations and future opportunities.
With this in mind, we must inform you that, in line with national guidance and local authority policy, the school will issue a fixed penalty notice (fine) to parents or carers who take their child on holiday during term time in Year 11. These measures are in place to ensure all students have the best possible chance of success.
While we understand that family time and holidays are important, we know that taking students out of school during term time has a significant impact on their learning and progress. Attendance is one of the clearest factors in improving academic attainment, and this has been a key consideration in our decision-making.
We urge you to avoid booking holidays during school terms and to support your child’s education by prioritising attendance. If you have any concerns that you wish to discuss, please contact the school in advance.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to your child’s education.
Yours faithfully,
Mr C Cotter Miss G Muray
Head of year 11 Head of Pupil Inclusi
