Oakwood Park
Trip Leaders – Mr C Cotter & Mr J Unwin
- 7.45am – Meet in the yard area outside the Sports Hall by the trees.
- A register will be taken and you will be told which coach you are on.
- Coaches will leave school at 8am. The coaches will not be able to wait for you if you are late.
- You will be given your admission ticket when you get to the park. A member of staff will walk your group into the park and will show you where the meeting point is.
- You will return to the meeting point no later than 3.45pm.
- Mr Unwin will use Twitter to provide updates as to how far away from Cardiff the coaches are on the return journey. Parents can find Mr Unwin on Twitter under Mr James Unwin / @junwinHOY9. He will tag the main school Twitter account into his tweets.
- There will be members of staff on duty in the area around the café all day.
- Let the trip leaders know who you are planning to go around the park with and make sure that they have a mobile phone number for your group should they need to get hold of you at any point during the day.
- If you want to go around the park with members of staff, please let Mr Unwin and Mr Cotter know so that they can ensure that there is someone with you.
What you will need to bring with you on the day:
- Wear cool & comfortable clothes.
- Wear trainers or sandals on your feet. Do not wear flip flops or sliders because they will fall off your feet when you are on the rides.
- A hat.
- Sun bloc.
- A refillable bottle for water.
- A change of clothes if you are planning to go on the water rides. A carrier bag to put your wet clothes in.
- A packed lunch or money to buy lunch, snacks & drinks at the park. Packed lunches will be available for those pupils who are eligible for a free school meal. Trip leaders will collect the packed lunches from the school canteen prior to leaving school.
Cinema Trip to Showcase Cinema, Nantgarw
Trip leader – Miss C Suarez
- Meet at the Sports Hall at 8.30am
- A register will be taken and you will be told which coach you are on.
- The coaches will leave school at around 9am. The coaches will not be able to wait for you if you are late.
- The coaches will arrive back in Cardiff at 1.20pm. You will not be coming back into school. You are responsible for making your own way home from school. Your parents can collect you if they want / choose to.
What you will need to bring with you on the day:
- Wear comfortable clothes.
- Snacks or money to buy snacks and treats at the cinema. Packed lunches will be available for those pupils who are eligible for a free school meal. Trip leaders will collect the packed lunches from the school canteen prior to leaving school.
Bristol Zoo
Trip leader – Mrs A Portlock-White
- Meet outside Room 48 at 8.20am
- The school mini bus and the school car will be leaving school at 8.30am. We will not be able to wait for you if you are late.
- We will enter the zoo together as a group.
- Younger pupils will make their way around the zoo with members of staff.
- Year 11 pupils will be able to make their way around the zoo with a group of friends.
- Staff will show you where the meeting point is when entering the zoo and will also show you where to go if you need assistance during the visit. Staff will leave a mobile number at reception that the zoo staff can contact them on.
- You will return to the meeting point no later than 1.45pm.
- The school vehicles will arrive back in Cardiff at 3pm. You will make your way home from school in the way that you normally do.
What you will need to bring with you on the day:
- Wear cool & comfortable clothes.
- Wear comfortable footwear that is suitable for walking around the zoo.
- A hat.
- Sun bloc.
- A refillable bottle for water.
- A packed lunch or money to buy lunch, snacks & drinks at the zoo. Packed lunches will be available for those pupils who are eligible for a free school meal. The trip leader will collect the packed lunches from the school canteen prior to leaving school.
Walking in the Brecon Beacons
Trip leader – Mr C O’Rourke
- Pupils should refer to the information pack that Mr O’Rourke gave out during the trip meeting that was held in Room 44 on 13th July.
A day of sporting activities with sports coaches
Trip leader – Mr C Alexander & Mr J Allen
- Meet outside CALCELLA at 8.30am
- You will return to school at 3pm and can make your way home in the way that you normally do.
What you will need to bring with you on the day:
- Wear sports kit. This can be school PE kit or your own sports clothes.
- Wear trainers on your feet.
- A hat.
- Sun bloc.
- A refillable bottle for water.
- A small towel to wipe sweat away in between activities.
- A packed lunch. Packed lunches will be available for those pupils who are eligible for a free school meal. Trip leaders will collect the packed lunches from the school canteen prior to leaving school.
