Dear parents/ guardians,
School will be open tomorrow (Friday 26th June) from 8am for lessons to start at 8.30am until 3.10pm. Pupils will still be able to wear PE kits (including school branded PE kit or plain white, black or navy alternatives) or the usual school uniform without blazers, jumpers or ties for school tomorrow. Temperatures are predicted to be around 10 to 12 degrees cooler than today but will still be hot. Therefore, it is important that your child has a refillable water bottle which can be filled before school, at break, lunch and the end of the day to stay hydrated. Please also ensure that they have sunscreen to protect skin exposed to the sun and that they have a hat for when they are outside the building.
Temperatures are due to drop significantly from Monday 29th June, and therefore we intend to return to normal school uniform arrangements from the start of next week. We will review the predicted temperatures tomorrow and confirm those arrangements by the end of tomorrow afternoon.
I would like to thank parents for their help, understanding, and support of the school over the course of this week. Pupils have, in most cases, adapted their uniform appropriately to take account of the weather and have it a relatively easy process for staff to manage. Most pupils have also conducted themselves impeccably during the week having regard for their own and others safety. I would like to thank you for helping us to maintain a well-ordered school environment despite the challenges. I would be grateful if you could continue to do so for tomorrow and ensure that your children leave for school in the clothing specified above, avoiding branded items and clothing with logos or slogans.
