Dear parents and carers
I hope you are well and looking forward to the half-term holidays. It has been a busy but productive first half-term for us back at Cathays High. I hope your children have found it enjoyable and rewarding although I am sure they are looking forward to recharging their batteries over the coming week.
Please note that Monday 7th November is an Inset Day and therefore almost all students will not need to be in school. There is a GCSE examination on that morning which involves a group of Year 11, 12 and 13 students. Those young people have been told of this and are fully aware that they will need to be in school. All other students will have the day off and should return to school by 8.25am on Tuesday 8th November in full school uniform.
When planning our Inset Days we try to have them at the end of a holiday wherever possible in the hole that it will minimise disruption to parents in having to make childcare arrangements rather than placing them in the middle of a term when arranging supervision for children can prove more difficult.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for you continued support and your commitment to working in partnership with us to provide the best possible experiences and support for your children. A successful school community requires parents and staff to work together to ensure that all of our young people are happy, safe and ready to learn.
Diolch yn fawr
Yours Faithfully
