Year 13 parents evening letter

Dear Parent/Carer,

We would like to invite you to attend our Year 13 Parents’ Evening on Thursday 22nd October between 4pm and 7pm. This is an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress during a crucial stage of their post-16 education.

Year 13 is a significant and demanding year for students as they prepare for their final examinations and make decisions about their next steps, whether that be university, apprenticeships, employment or other destinations. The choices and progress made this year can have a lasting impact on future opportunities, making the partnership between home and school more important than ever.

Parents’ Evening provides an opportunity to meet subject teachers and gain a clear understanding of your child’s current attainment, progress and potential outcomes. Teachers will be able to discuss:

  • Current academic performance and progress towards target grades.
  • Strengths and areas requiring further focus.
  • Attendance, engagement and independent study habits.
  • Examination preparation and revision strategies.
  • Support available to help students achieve their goals.
  • Readiness for university applications, apprenticeships and other post-18 pathways.

As a parent or carer, you play a vital role in supporting your child’s success. Attending Parents’ Evening will help you understand how your child is performing across their subjects and how you can best support them during this important period. Even highly independent students benefit when parents and school staff work together to provide encouragement, guidance and appropriate challenge.

The evening will also provide an opportunity to discuss any concerns, celebrate achievements and ensure that appropriate support is in place as students approach their final examinations. Open communication between home and school can make a significant difference in helping students remain motivated, organised and confident throughout Year 13.

Please confirm your attendance at this link: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/ivhUFw3jKZ

We strongly encourage all parents and carers to attend and look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child’s progress and aspirations for the future.

Yours faithfully,

Chloe Picken
