Change of Staff, September 2026 – Head of Year 9

Dear Parent/Guardian,

From September 2026, Ms Jacka will assume the role of Head of Year 9.

As I will be leaving Cathays High School at the end of term to take up a post at another school, I kindly ask that, from September onwards, all cohort related correspondence is directed to Ms Jacka.

During the remainder of the summer term, while I remain Head of Year 8, you are welcome to contact me with any questions. Ms Jacka and I will be working closely together to ensure a smooth transition, with all relevant information and student progress shared ahead of the new academic year in September 2026. She is very much looking forward to building positive relationships with both students and families, and to supporting your child throughout the next stage of their school journey.

Today, Ms Jacka and I gave an assembly to Year 8 regarding the change to their Head of Year. We are sensitive to the fact that times of change can be unsettling for some, so please get in touch if you have any concerns that we can address together. 

It has been a pleasure working with you and your child over the past two years, and I am sincerely grateful for the support you have shown both the school and me during this time.
