Dear parents/guardians,

The annual Cathays High School KS3 Sports Day is taking place on Tuesday 15th July.  Years 7, 8 & 9 are all going to the National Indoor Athletics Centre (NIAC) at Cardiff Met where pupils will take part in a traditional athletics competition as well as basketball tournaments throughout the day. 

Year 10 will be in school and will attend lessons as normal.  They will also be in their school uniform as normal. 

All pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 are to come to school dressed in their PE kit.  The pupils are aware of their house colours and are also encouraged to wear a top of that colour.  All pupils must also be in school by 8.25am because there will be a morning registration tutorial at 8.30am.  After this, Year 10 will go to their lessons and Years 7, 8 and 9 will go straight to the Sports Hall.

Years 7, 8 and 9 will travel to Cardiff Met on buses and will return to school after the activities before being dismissed at the end of the school day at 3.10pm.  Years 7, 8 and 9 will be having their lunch at Cardiff Met.  Pupils who are eligible for free school meals will have lunches provided for them on the day.  Pupils who are not eligible for free school meals will need to bring a packed lunch and refreshments.

All pupils will be supervised by Cathays High School staff and will be expected to follow the usual high standards of behaviour.  This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the sporting talent within the school community and for the pupils to enjoy a shared sporting experience.
